Emergentia's
Goals &
Directives
To provide a safe place for people to have
conversations about doing church in an emerging culture
-
That people would find
encouragement and hope that there are others who are
feeling the same way and attempting to do ministry in
similar ways
-
That people would find
encouragement and hope that there is room in the Church
of The Nazarene for them
-
That people would begin to
form some generative relationships
-
That those generative
relationships would prompt us on to action and starting
new churches
-
That we could begin to
freely explore the depth of the questions of what it
means to be a "Christian, Missional, and Holiness"
people.
-
That the conversation would
compel us to live in the actual, and become the living
embodiment of conversation

Emergentia Stories
...what struck me at last
year's event was the eagerness to learn how to have conversation with
people who are far from God and become their friend right where they
are. The other thing I observed was that there was a deep desire to be
Wesleyan and true to our doctrinal roots.
Dr. Keith Wright
...when I walked into last years Emergentia conversation, I had no idea
what to expect. What I found was a group of individuals, of all ages and
backgrounds, who were passionately and desperately seeking to find,
embrace and bring the Kingdom of God to their local contexts and faith
communities. And I walked away from that time feeling hopeful that God
was speaking to us in fresh languages, and asking, when can we do this
again?
