Emergentia Stories

...what struck me at last year's event was the eagerness to learn how to have conversation with people who are far from God and become their friend right where they are. The other thing I observed was that there was a deep desire to be Wesleyan and true to our doctrinal roots.

Dr. Keith Wright

...when I walked into last years Emergentia conversation, I had no idea what to expect. What I found was a group of individuals, of all ages and backgrounds, who were passionately and desperately seeking to find, embrace and bring the Kingdom of God to their local contexts and faith communities. And I walked away from that time feeling hopeful that God was speaking to us in fresh languages, and asking, when can we do this again?

I attend a lot of conferences because of my job as a professor. Some I endure, some I love. Emergentia is one of the latter. Here, I find kindred spirits--people who love God desperately and are trying to figure out how to help the church faithfully live out this love. The conversations are rich, as is the diversity of people who are exploring these issues. I walked away from the last conference with new friends, new insights, and a renewed desire to fully explore what it means to be both Nazarene and Emerging. I hope you'll be a part of this year's conference as I believe you'll benefit greatly from the experience.

...Emergentia provides the opportunity for you to connect with like minded people, who just have a passion to see Jesus glorified. You are able to share thoughts, dreams, and theories...and talk about how to see those become realities. I'm looking forward to another great conference!
